City of Peabody, Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services Taking action to improve wellbeing and create lasting positive change - in Peabody, our families, and in ourselves. Our mission is to enhance positive outcomes for Peabody residents and their families while creating a healthier community for all who live, work, or play in Peabody.

The City of Peabody Division of Social Services supports the wellbeing of Peabody residents through identifying needs, providing crisis stabilization, and coordinating access to physical, mental, and behavioral health care services; coordinating and planning for after care needs; providing short-term emotional support and counseling, coordinating of substance use prevention programs in Peabody, including opioid-use prevention and opioid-use harm reduction and treatment programs, as well as primary prevention programs that foster positive youth development, and making referrals to community resources for additional supports, assistance, and safety.
