License Renewal

 
 
AAA Members may ask their Optometrist or Ophthalmologists to sign an official Class D and M Vision Screening Certificate and the eye exam procedure will be omitted. Click HERE for more information.

Your Massachusetts license is valid for a maximum of five (5) years and expires on your birthday. You may renew your license up to one (1) year prior to the expiration date.
Eligible Class D and/or Class M license holders may renew their license online.
Note: You are not eligible to renew online and must renew in person if:
  • your last license renewal was processed online
  • your license photo is nine (9) years older
  • you are 75 years of age or older at the time of renewal
Commercial driver's license holders must renew in person at an RMV Branch office.

Voluntary Surrender and License Restoration/Free Massachusetts ID card

This information is being shared by Peabody TRIAD in honor of National Older Driver Safety Awareness Week. The Peabody TRIAD Council consists of Seniors and Law Enforcement working together to develop and implement policies and programs to reduce criminal victimization, promote crime prevention and safety awareness, and serve the needs of the senior community in Peabody. In addition, the Council designs and supports programs to improve the quality of life for our senior citizens. The Peabody TRIAD Council believes they have the ability to make a difference in our community and are dedicated to serving our city and its residents.

Customers who are at least 65 years of age or have a disability can call the RMV’s dedicated appointment line at 857-368-8005 to schedule a license or ID appointment.

Customers who are at least 65 years of age or have a disability can call the RMV’s dedicated appointment line at 857-368-8005 to schedule a license or ID appointment. The RMV’s Senior License Renewal Appointment Line warns customers that they will not be served if do not meet the above qualifications. Email the RMV for assistance at MassDOTRMVSeniors@dot.state.ma.us.
